Kate Bizorik
High School: 2004 Graduate of Green High School located near Akron, Ohio. I started playing middle back, then got moved to an all around leftside my junior year. My senior year, I was awarded Defensive Player of the Year.
College: I earned my Bachelors of Science while playing volleyball at Heidelberg University, a Division III school in Tiffin, Ohio. Here, I also played left side, and earned the Coach’s Award my senior year.
Coaching: My first year of coaching was my senior year in college. I coached a 15’s club team for Black Swamp. A few years later, I got married and moved to Sturgeon Bay, WI where I coached the JV team for two years. Shortly after, we moved to Kodiak, AK where I was the varsity assistant. We took the team to state all three years I coached there earning third, fifth, and third. Now we live in Lake Ann, MI. I have been coaching for Traverse City Central and Northshore since 2017 and I plan to continue until we move again.
My Life: We move around a lot because we are a Coast Guard family. I fell for my husband while we were in college. He joined the Coast Guard and then we got married in 2011. We have added three beautiful and happy little girls to our ever growing family. Our lives are busy, but we like it that way.
My Why: Coaching brings a special happiness to me that nothing else can do. I absolutely love building relationships with the players and watching each girl learn and grow. This sport is also a perfect way for me to be apart of each community we join during our moves. Volleyball has been my happy place for the last 19 years, and it’s a love bucket that I will continue to fill with both playing and coaching.
