Here is our Full Schedule

Tournaments
Tournaments are optional (but highly recommended), and are not part of your fees.
Players can play in any tournaments throughout the country! See the schedule above for all the tournament dates.

Ages / Genders
Program are open to all genders. Grades 4th – 12th (plus recently graduated athletes). Under 3rd grade by director approval.

Partners
One of our main questions is “do they need a partner?” The answer is no! We match up players in practice when partners are needed. However, athletes often enjoy having a dedicated partner,

We HIGHLY encourage athletes to play with multiple partners throughout the season, especially at tournaments. Finding the right partners is an important journey.

Costs
See programs above for costs.
Siblings will be $250 each ($300 each for Tournament Training Program),
This covers coaching, volleyballs, court lines, and other coaching necessities.
This does not cover the cost of tournaments (which are all optional), travel, food, uniforms, personal equipment, AAU membership fees, or anything else really. Tournaments are generally $20-30 per player.

Uniforms
Matching outfits are totally cool, but not necessary. We are required to wear Adidas clothing for tournament play. We will have apparel available to purchase the first weeks of the season.

One Coach, Many Teams
During beach tournaments, beach teams consist of only two players, and coaching is not allowed during game play, only during time outs and switching of courts (so about 3 minutes of coaching per an hour match). Having one coach for each two-player team would be very expensive. Additionally, all tournaments are optional to players, so having one coach for many teams will keep costs low, and follow AAU guidelines, while also allowing for the players to just play volleyball.

Tryouts/Teams
There are no tryouts for beach volleyball. We often have a waitlist, and it is first come first serve for spaces. In the past, we have made room for all athletes, but each year have more athletes and the same amount of beach space (this year we may get 2 more courts!).  It is a great opportunity for athletes of all skill levels (and we mix groups so that they are sometimes with stronger and sometimes with weaker skilled athletes).

Courts
We will be playing on the Traverse City beach courts (West Bay).

Why Beach Volleyball
Most importantly, it is a ton of fun! It trains players to read the ball, arguably the most important skill in volleyball. It is a great work out, and you get to be on the beach!
