Danielle Humphrey
School: Traverse City (Central) High School
College: Northwestern Community College (Associates), Ferris State University (Bachelors of Science-Education), and Central Michigan University (Masters of Arts- Ed. Tech.).
Coaching Experience: I have coached everything from 4th/5th grade volleyball (TCAPS) all the way up to JV Volleyball for Suttons Bay. The bulk of my coaching experience is with middle school. This will be my second season with NorthShore as the 13 Blue Coach. I have been coaching for 9 years.
Why I Coach: For me, volleyball is a community sport- it takes the whole team to be successful, there’s not just one rock star that wins a game for us. Working with kids and developing their skills makes them better players which strengthens the team. However, there are other things we can learn from a team sport like volleyball. On my teams we work on trust, cooperation, problem-solving skills and responsibility.
About Me: Traverse City, born and raised. I am married to my husband, Rob, of 14 years. We have a son, Sean, who is 11 years old. We are crazy board gamers- we love Ticket to Ride, Unstable Unicorns, Monopoly, but my personal favorites are Scattegories and Phase 10. We also love being outdoors- camping, going to the beach, riding our bikes, and cross country skiing.
